STRAY KIDS REACTION TO…
…having a vibrator and you messing with the settings
ᡴꪫ CHAN…. would have been so against the idea but after so much convincing he finally gave in. you had promised to not interfere with his work for it. yet he should have known better. he trusts you so much that he had thought you were pleased with him just having it in… forgetting about it while being cooped up in the studio.
after being alone for so many hours, when you walked in he had thought nothing of it, looking up and smiling. “hi- AH!” he literally jolts off his chair, kneeling on the floor. you’re wicked smile going unseen as he trembles on the floor. never again.
ᡴꪫ MINHO…. also wasn’t very keen on the idea but gave in when you said you’ll treat him to something delicious. he had simply asked you to not put it at the highest setting and especially around the members. technically you didn’t… just that on the day you two had gone out to get some treats, you had stayed back in the car.
he’s jogging out. picking up the order and jogs back. as soon as he opens the car door and hands you the bag- “FUCK-“ he folds over, clutching your arm for dear life. you quickly yank him inside the car as he jerks. “you little- ah!” you quickly turn it off when the driver looks back at you weird, leaning over and closing the car door as minho slumps into the seat and catches his breath.
ᡴꪫ CHANGBIN…. was completely okay with the idea. what he wasn’t okay with was how you kept messing with the settings. he was literally on a call with his mom.
“h-huh?” he swallowed, legs rubbing together and his breath shallow. “no i’m not sick- i- uh y/n is just next to me and distracting-“ you put it at the highest level “-ME! Y/N!” you grin wickedly. good thing you’re in his room.
ᡴꪫ HYUNJIN…. enjoys his quiet time. meaning he likes the peace he gets while painting or drawing. however, he couldn’t really concentrate as you were in his room- which wasn’t exactly the reason why. he had a vibrator and you were messing with the settings.
he keeps jerking when you switch the settings and his pencils moves wobbly. at some point he’s a whimpering mess slumped over his desk and you watch from his bed with a grin.
ᡴꪫ JISUNG…. likes to bed rot. he was sure you’d go easy on him since you two were comfortable in his bed. except you managed to get him to go open the door for the food you had ordered. he had complained but you kissed him and convinced extremely well. so he obeyed and walked out, only for you to start with level 5.
he’s not even out the door when he yelps and slumps against the bedroom door. you watch him with glimmering eyes before stopping. he doesn’t even trust you anymore to walk out but again, you’re a good convincer… he barely makes it to the living room…
ᡴꪫ FELIX…. so our wannabe gamer is literally in his own world. after some good sex he happily agrees to the vibrator. he knows you’re a huge tease but he didn’t expect you to actually torture him. he’s screaming at the top of his lungs while playing with his friends… when you put the highest setting possible. he chokes. literally.
“I’M MUTING-“ he screeches and with a quick tap on the button in his headset, he freely whimpers. you mess between the settings. you later suffer the (extremely good) consequences because he kept losing and sucking at the game afterwards.
ᡴꪫ SEUNGMIN…. was not easy to convince. it took a lot of work. you had to PLAY NICE. l/n y/n does not play nice but you really wanted this so you had to work for it. after so much coaxing he finally gave in. he was super awkward and tense, expecting you do start from the first second you stepped away. but he realized this is actually something he has to go by unexpectedly.
hence… after a few hours, he’s comfortably walking around and cleaning. he’s tidy. you’re helping out and watching him. the second you see him bend over to pick up the dirty clothes bin, you hit the button and- “NGH-“ he doubles over. never again…. at least for a super long time
ᡴꪫ JEONGIN…. was super nervous. yes, he was extremely down to test that out but again, nervous and shy. you coaxed him after a while and soon you managed to make him accustomed to it. as you know, jeongin is pretty clumsy…. so no one was really fazed when you’d put the lowest setting and startle him.
he’d drop whatever he’s holding, topple things over… his ears would be so red and he’d make a strangled noise. of course, you don’t do it often around whoever’s in the dorm but you tease him enough times that he ends up crying and begging you to stop (but to stop teasing and actually do something about his boner)

What Video Game/ Genre The Hashira's Play- Demon Slayer
a/n: just a silly idea bc my head is filled with gaming brainrot esp dress to impress
any likes and reblogs are always appreciated! enjoy! <3
genre: silly
⋆。‧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚‧。⋆
Giyu:
He's honestly a chill gamer and mostly just there to have fun and make friends. But never really chats with anybody unless someone talks to him first.
He duo's with Sabito a lot on games. Whatever games Sabito recommends to play, he'll play it. Sabito mostly carries him in FPS ( first person shooter ) games.
One time Sanemi and Obanai were on the enemy team and they won. He would be confused on why they would curse him out every time in the chat saying he was to 'easy' or that he sucks.
Sanemi:
Plays a lot of video games especially during his childhood. He would share his DS or Gameboy with Genya a lot during their childhood.
Mainly plays FPS games or any combat games. Literally anything competitive.
Mostly duo with Obanai in FPS games. He would curse Giyu out with Obanai anytime they would be on the opposing team.
Tries to play with Genya and he tries his best to not rage but eventually he does either at the game or at Genya. Ironically tells Genya not to play games like that anymore because people in the lobby can be toxic.
Would get in trouble a lot from yelling so much at the game at night.
Obanai:
Has played Overcooked with Mitsuri many times. He does not yell at her at all and is super patient when they do not get any stars on the hard levels. They would plan strategies together on how to defeat a level.
Sometimes plays FPS games but only when Sanemi asks him to get on. Will type mean things in chat with Sanemi whenever he sees Giyu on the opposite team.
Misturi:
Has so much fun playing overcooked with Obanai and they are so close to finishing the game. Would make comments about how if she were to drop food in her restaurant she would not serve it to her customers or how she would love to make a recipe like that in real life.
She would play cooking games like Cooking Mama or Good Pizza, Great Pizza. Would literally give a generous amount of toppings on Good Pizza, Great Pizza and would already have 5 stars in her restaurant.
Plays other games like Episode or The Sims or Just Dance. Would have the cutest family in the coziest home that she made on The Sims. She would also be really good on Just Dance.
She would also play Otome games because men irl suck and Obanai won't confess to her yet.
Tengen:
He would be really good in Osu! or any rhythm game. Has also played Fortnite Festival and has the top score in all his friends lists.
Duo with Rengoku often in FPS games. He would also have a big ego when playing any competitive match. "I'm a god in this game"
Rengoku:
Plays a couple FPS games and duos with Tengen.
Plays with his little brother and helps carry him in any game he needs. Usually just loves to spend time with his little brother and plays whatever game he wants.
Played with Sanemi and Obanai a couple times. Sanemi would yell in the mic and have his ears ringing so Rengoku wouldn't notice how loud he actually talks on the mic until Sanemi yells at him.
Shinobu:
Not the biggest fan of playing video games on her free time.
I don't know why but I think she could have fun playing horror games or likes playing chill games like Stardew Valley.
She tried to play an FPS game and played the role as a healer and never picked up the game ever again.
Muichiro:
Would have a hand me down of a DS or gameboy and have loved video games every since.
Have played a lot of video games and plays a lot of games that are trending.
Right now he plays a lot of Minecraft and Roblox.
Teaches the Kamaboko Squad on how to play. They would have a realm and try to beat the enderdragon together.
Gyomei:
He's blind but I feel like the kids would include him in an game they play. I feel like he would like playing story games where choices matter. He would carefully pick the choices and actions so he can save all the characters.

Pog Champ
Fandom: Stranger Things (Gamer/Streamer/Modern AU)
Pairing: Eddie Munson x F!Reader
Summary: You're a Twitch streamer and have been looking to collab with other streamers. You decide to message some of the streamers you watch and follow. To your surprise, some of them reply and agree for a collab. One of those people being Eddie Munson. Based off my imagine here.
A/N: I guess it's a mini series because I didn't want this to end up being a long ass oneshot! So it'll be like 3-5 parts....
Eddie Munson Masterlist
Now that you've grown in your following and viewership, you've hired a team to help you work through the industry. Your manager and publicist both suggested that you start reaching out to streamers that you watch for some collaborations.
You've dm'ed many streamers and influencers. Some have declined, which was a little disheartening. But there were also some that agreed and you worked to schedule something.
One of them was EddieTheBanished aka Eddie Munson. He was big in the RPG community, playing games like World of Warcraft, Dark Souls, or even streaming his own D&D campaign with some of his friends and mods.
You've always wanted to get into D&D but didn't know anyone who played. You took this opportunity to message him on twitter:
CyberCat: hey! I've been following you for a whi-
You pause and start deleting your message and restart again:
CyberCat: hello! i'm messaging you to talk-
No no. It's giving "I wanna take a minute to talk about your car's extended warranty."
"Uuuuggghh!" You throw your head back onto your pillow, staring up at your ceiling.
Just be casual. It's no big deal...except it was because you're kind of a fan of Eddie's and you enjoy his streams.
You just decide to type out:
CyberCat: Hi Eddie! I'm a streamer and I enjoy your content. Wanna collab some time?
Send.
You toss your phone to the foot of your bed like it was on fire. Okay. You did it.
You decide to slide off your bed and head to your streaming desk in the corner of your room. Time to play some games and stream just to drown away your anxiety and anticipation.
__________________
It's Thursday which means it's Eddie's day off from streaming. However, he's still in his streaming room, but he's sitting at his desk strumming his guitar trying to figure out the next verse of the song he's working on.
He's been stumped on this song for a while. He started it weeks ago, but still hasn't finished it. Aside from streaming, music was another one of his passions. He didn't really share this side of himself too much online. But everyone who knew him in real life knew about his love for music, specifically metal and heavy rock.
Eddie lets out a long, deep sigh as he erases another line of lyrics. Frustrated, he places his guitar to the side and picks up his phone.
He taps on twitter and immediately goes to the mentions tab. He sees that he's been tagged in a tweet of a Twitch clip.
He taps on it and it's you, a streamer that he watches and follows, talking, "Yeah so I DM'ed a few streamers for collabs because my team says I should start dipping my toes into collabs." You pause and read off chat, "Who did I DM?"
You cover your mouth with a smirk, "I don't think I should say." You read chat again, "Give you some names? Okay, fuck it, I highly doubt they'd see this! So, I DM'ed Tinakitten, CinnaBrit, MayaHiga, oh, and EddieTheBanished! And tbh, guys, I was the most nervous about DM'ing Eddie. Because I really-okay I watch all of the streamers I named, but I resonate more with Eddie's content. He's cool and funny and he plays Dungeons and Dragons! I've always wanted to learn how to play. So yeah, I don't think he'll see my DM though."
The clip ends and Eddie immediately goes to his DMs. He taps on the "Verified" tab and sees that your DM is the first one at the top. He sees your message and can't help but smile. You're a fan of him and he's a bit of a fan of yours as well. So this is a little surreal for him.
Before he responds, he wants to see if you're still streaming. He pulls up your Twitch account and you have a little under three thousand viewers. You have always had a good amount of people in your community.
Your face pops up. You had just started stream and so you're just chatting with chat.
"Okay, so we have a few things on the list of what I can do for these collabs. What else do you have for me, guys, come on! Lay it on me!"
You're wearing headphones with cat ears on them, an homage to your Twitch username CyberCat.
Your eyes are skimming through the messages that are coming through and your eyes widen, "Wait, why are you guys saying 'Hi, Eddie'?! Please don't tell me he's here!" You hide your face with your hands for a moment, "Oh God. You guys sent him a clip, didn't you?!"
Eddie chuckles and decides to type in chat:
EddieTheBanished: people tagged me in your clip on twitter.
"Goddammit! Guys, I told you not to! You fucking traitors!"
Eddie snorts and types another message:
EddieTheBanished: so about this collab, what did you have in mind?
"What did I have in mind? Well, I mean, if you're down, maybe you can hold a D&D oneshot campaign with me? I've always wanted to play and I don't know anyone who's played. You're also like the number one Twitch streaming DM, in my opinion."
EddieTheBanished: I'm down. I'll reply to your twitter DM with my discord and we can flush out the details there.
"O-Okay! Sounds good!"
EddieTheBanished: have a good rest of your stream!
"Thanks so much! Have a good day!"
Before closing Twitch, he decides gift a hundred subs.
"Holy fuck! Eddie??? What the fuck! Thank you for the one hundred subs! Holy shit! You didn't have to do that!"
Your praises can't help but make Eddie feel pretty good about himself.
He simply sends a winky face in chat and then leaves.
_______________________________
You end stream feeling like you're floating. EddieTheBanished, aka Eddie Munson, agreed to collab with you and you're STOKED!
You check your DM's and see that he replied with his discord. You add him as a friend and message him:
CyberCat: so you're serious about the collab right? because if you're not, then i'm gonna be super fucking bummed.
EddieTheBanished: I am serious! Are you serious about dipping your toes in D&D.
CyberCat: absolutely. i've watched your campaign streams and it looks so fun and chaotic!
EddieTheBanished: Alright. I'm going to send you a character sheet for you to fill out. If you have questions, just let me know, or we can set up a time to call and I'll walk you through it.
CyberCat: I'll fill it out the best that I can and then hit you up when I'll need help.
EddieTheBanished: [thumbs up]
You stare at your computer in amazement. You just scored your first collab and it's with one of your favorite streamers. Holy shit!
____________________________
For the next few weeks, you and Eddie were messaging each other back and forth. It was mainly you asking questions about the stats of your character, which would be best pertaining to the species you chose, etc.
He was very kind and helpful, not to mention he was funny. When you weren't streaming, you often found yourself giggling at your phone because of something Eddie texted.
What started off as a superficial crush started to develop into a real life one, but you couldn't let yourself become delusional. Eddie is, if anything, just an acquaintance, and he would probably never see you as something more. Especially since you two never even met in person and have only been chatting for two weeks.
No. This can't become something more.
___________________________
Eddie's face appears on screen and he waves, "Sup losers!" he exclaims while Metallica plays at a low volume in the background.
"Okay, so that oneshot D&D session with CyberCat is happening today. So be on your best behavior!" he points at the camera with a stern look, "We wanna make a good impression, right?!"
PreciousBlorboBoy: if she can handle you then she can handle us.
Eddie narrows his eyes at the screen, "Blorbo, what the fuck's that supposed to mean, huh?!"
There's a bunch of KEKW, LMAOs, and peepo laugh emotes in the chat.
TearStainedGuitar: isn't she a fan of yours? so she should know how we are!
"Regardless! I wanna make sure she has a good experience here, okay?! This is her first collab as a streamer so it's a big deal. Plus...she's cool. So we have to be cool too."
MysticBiter: dude is so stressed about this collab
"I'm not stressed! I just wanna make sure CyberCat's first collab stream is good!"
PreciousBlorboBoy: guys he's blushing so hard.
"I'M NOT BLUSHING!"
He hears the familiar ding from Discord letting him know that you joined the call.
"Who's blushing?" you ask.
"No one! No one's blushing!" He quickly replies.
You chuckle, "Okaaaay?"
He nervously clears his throat, "SO you wanna introduce yourself to my chat while I set this up?"
"Sure!" You clear your throat and begin the introduction, "Hi everyone! I'm CyberCat. You can call me Cat or Y/N. I also stream on Twitch. I'm a variety gamer and I like to play games like Fortnite, Animal Crossing, Infinity Nikki, Valorant, stuff like that. Other than gaming, I love blind boxes, reading, going to cafes, and thrifting! Uuuuhhh, was there anything else you wanted me to say, Eddie?"
"I'm still setting up the screenshare sooo, uh, tell us what you're currently reading?"
"...I don't think I should say."
Eddie pauses and smirks, "Is it fairy porn?"
"HOW THE FUCK DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE FAIRY PORN?!"
Chat is flooded with "?????", "HUUUUUH?" and "AYO??"
He cackles, "I've seen TikToks, I know that some of you book girls are into freaky stuff."
"TO BE FAIR, I don't explicitly read fairy porn...I read other stuff like-"
"Alien porn?" Eddie finishes with a snicker.
"No! Oh my God. Stop it!"
"Relax, Cat. I'm just messing with you. You ready for this?"
"Yeah! Let's do this!"
______________________
Your POV
"Hello hello!" you wave at your camera, "You guys ready for my first ever collab stream?"
Your chat fills with emotes of chibi you cheering and smiling.
"Good! I'm glad! So, this goes without saying that we need to make a good impression. So if you chat hop, don't be weird or mean. Gotta make a good impression with Eddie and his community. Got it?"
EchoKnight: you nervous?
"Kinda! I mean, Eddie and I have been messaging each other on the side. He helped me create my character and answered all my questions. Oh God, I was being SO annoying to him. Just bombarding him with questions! But he was always so nice and understanding, so I don't feel as nervous as I felt when I first asked him to collab with me."
ZeniPenny: is it weird since you'd watch him on twitch and now you're collabing?
"Not really? I mean, I've gotten to know him more than like just what he's showed and talked about on stream. So that's cool. Anyway, it's getting close to the start time so I'm gonna hop into the Discord call."
"-BLUSHING!"
Your brows furrow, "Who's blushing?" you ask.
"No one! No one's blushing!" He quickly replies.
You chuckle, "Okaaaay?" You click around, setting up the video call on Discord. You have a duel camera setup. One on your face and one pointing down at your desk, focusing on your deskmat and the various dice.
He nervously clears his throat, "SO you wanna introduce yourself to my chat while I set this up?"
"Sure!" You clear your throat, sitting up in your chair more, staring at the screen, "Hi everyone!
You pause, rolling you lips inward, "...I don't think I should say."
Eddie asks, "Is it fairy porn?"
You slam your hands on your desk and exclaim into your mic, "HOW THE FUCK DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE FAIRY PORN?!"
Your chat floods with question marks, LMAOs, and a blushing peepo emote.
Eddie cackles in response, "I've seen TikToks, I know that some of you book girls are into freaky stuff."
You shake your head, "TO BE FAIR, I don't explicitly read fairy porn...I read other stuff like-"
"Alien porn?" Eddie finishes with a snicker.
"No!" you run your hands down your face, "Oh my God. Stop it!" you could feel your cheeks heating up in embarrassment.
ZeniPenny: ...i'm getting secondhand embarrassment
You mute yourself on Discord to scold chat, "Chat, shut the fuck up! We're not bringing this up ever!"
You hear Eddie, "Relax, Cat. I'm just messing with you. You ready for this?"
You unmute yourself to respond, "Yeah! Let's do this!"

So I calculated the exact screen time of all the love square ships in season 1
Yeah, it's exactly what it says. With 99% accuracy I went through all the episodes of season 1, calculated the exact screen time of ever love square ship in every episode, added them all up and made charts to compare them.
But first of all, where did I get the idea to do this? Well, I was looking through Tumblr and I so a post by someone called purrincess-chat answering an ask about Adrienette in Season 5 and in her reply she mentioned how Ladynoir and Adrien have around the same screen time in seasons 1-4 with Ladynoir having slightly more and that is simply reversed in season 5 with some Maricat and Ladrien sprinkled here and there. So that made me wonder: how much really is the distribution of screen time between the love square ships? So I did this, starting with season 1. But before we get into the results...
Some Ground Rules
What does and doesn't count as screen time for a particular ship? Here are the rules I laid out:
Both characters of the ship must be present in the scene for it to count. That's means no scenes of Marinette fawning over ads and pictures of Adrien or Adrien swooning over the fact that the love letter he found in "Dark Cupid" might be from Ladybug.
At least one of characters of the ship must be reacting to the presence of the other character for it to count or at least doing something together. We can't have Maribug and Adricat both just doing their own separate thing acting like background characters and call that shipping content.
If one or both of the characters believe that there are speaking with the alter ego of the other character, then it counts as screen time for that ship. Meaning when Ladybug goes to check on Adrien in "Volpina" and Cat Noir pretends to be his civilian self taking a shower, it counts as Ladrien screen time, not Ladynoir.
Now that that's dealt with let's get into the distribution.
Screen Time Distribution
To the surprise of absolutely no one, Ladynoir dominated season 1, having 76% of the total love square screen time. Makes sense, right? There's an akuma every episode so there's Ladynoir ever episode and since this is season 1, it's more focused on the strict formula rather than some actual development between the other ships.
Coming in a definitely-not-close second is Adrienette with 18.5% of the total love square screen time. No surprises here. Adrienette along with Ladynoir are the main 2 ships while Maricat and Ladrien are simply the side ships. Plus, it's not often for just one of them to be transformed.
Speaking of which, Maricat and Ladrien come in 3rd and 4th with 3% and 2.5% of the total love square screen time respectively and pretty close to each other, Maricat having a slight edge over Ladrien.
Now let's see the trend across the episodes.
Screen Time Trend
For the most part, Ladynoir is on a completely different level than the other ships, only temporarily being dethroned for one episode- that episode being "Gamer"- by Adrienette which was the episode they both practiced for the Ultimate Mecha Strike Tournament and we got some Adrienette bonding with Marinette giving Adrien her lucky charm bracelet. Other than that, it's been on top the whole time, with there even being episodes with solely Ladynoir screen time and having an average of 4 min 22 sec of screen time per episode, with most screen time being in "Animan" (8 min 28 sec) and least being in "Pixelator" (1 min 3 sec) a.k.a the episode where Adrien was stuck in the titular villain's prison dimension for most of the episode. It mellowed down a little towards the end of the season due to there being more plot relevant stuff in those episodes than akuma battle but picked itself right back up for the finale.
Adrienette stayed fairly low in screen time and having screen time in most episodes having a huge spike in the episodes "Kung Food" to "Animan", even temporarily dethroning Ladynoir like I mentioned before with 6 min 28 sec of screen time.
Finally, Maricat and Ladrien had a few small to moderate spikes here and there with some even being two episodes in a row and Ladrien having most of it's screen time towards the end of season 1.
Conclusion
Yeah, so that's it. I'm going to be doing these after I complete every season so keep a look out.

✿ Pile 1 ✿
Popular Loner
Detatched as fuuuuck. 💀 Oof pile 1, I'm hearing you convey the same energy as an Aquarius/Libra. You don't have to be that particular sign, but you do display simmilar traits. With that pile 1, you are very smart and you know that in some situations your words may cut like a knife... and yet you still full send them lmfao. This pile is goofy af, on top of that you are very hard to get a hold of. Deadass I'm seeing you tend to fall off the face of the planet, then randomly reactivate your social media's and positing again to see who missed you or whats buzzing. 🐝 ✨️ I'm hearing "Whats the tea 🍵?¿" Your card Pile 1 was the Queen of Swords. Althought it may seem like a favorful card, this is actually far from the truth. You are so in touch with your logic based brain that you are failing when it comes to connecting to your own emotions. They are turned off so you can percieve things as they actually are and continue to stay on the high pedstal that you put yourself on. Pile 1, I'm seeing here that so many people want to collaborate with you, but you love them at a distance. You rarely do anything else that isn't hanging out with your family doing errands, or working and stacking up silently. This may also be my piles who work from home. You prefer to be secluded in your own energy and most don't know that much about you. You may also be very "vocal" when it comes to your social media. This can lead to "trolling" or "fights" that happen. Pile 1 lets be honest, you like to stir the pot lmfao. Messsyyyy.
✿ Advice From Spirit ✿
Your Angel guides and spirits think you'll grow out of this phase. So that's good news right there pile 1. You may be on the Younger side, or have a youthful way of thinking. Honestly, you as a person is very likable. You tend to gravitate people towards you just from vibes alone, and people love that about you. I'm hearing, "You need to rationalize better, and use honesty in your everyday life with straightfowardness". With this type of living, your encounters will become enriched with trust from your own judgment and maintain integrity in your day to day life. I'm also hearing "Be there for people more, open up your boundaries and live life day by day, be present". Once you genuinely want to spend time with more people, you will reach the point of your life where you can be of guidance to others. Just like how the Queen of Swords was. Less Arguments, and more Growth. 🌱 (:

✿ Pile 2 ✿
Fight Club
"THANK GOD I AIN'T HAVE TO SMACK A B**** TODAY"
Why do you feel the need to even have to fight if you'll always come out right in the end? Like whats the use... I'm seeing someone who likes to get receipts, facts, everythinggggg before they start to go psycho mode and yell at people to defend their own ideals. Pile 2, your card was 5 of Swords. I'm hearing Smack a Bitch by Rico Nasty.
Especially when she say's "Don't work at MAC, but I'll beat a bitch's face". Bwahahaha Pile 2 you are fighters let's go! It reminds me of something my gamer girl friend always says "Violence is always the answer". While it may seem true to you; ya do know that sometimes it's better to let things settle and silence is always an answer as well? Why must you add more flames into the conversation just to set everything and everyone on fire? Contemplate on that thought pile 2 lmfao. You may think that you're very defensive and you wouldn't hurt a fly but babyyyy Tarot ain't lying here Lmao. Lemme call you out (with love ofc haha ♡). Pile 2 you are seen as a hot pan. Filled with oil and if one spec of water touches you, you'll go ape shit hahah. People around you have learned to just keep you happy and fed so you don't go all aggro on them. They know you hold grudges secretly until you kinda just dgaf then full send all those emotions that were held deep inside. ✿ Pile 3 ✿
Depersonalization
You are it baby. Honey, You're a star did you know that?
All eyes are on you. You may have already known that from a young age, but I'm seeing here that you tend to dim your light so others can shine more. Why do you do that? Stars are meant to be seen. You are supposed to be guiding people, but instead you're making others guide randoms and they have nothing in common? Lmfao I'm seeing you being extremely friendly to everyone and when one bad person says something wrong about you, your whole friend group is broken up cause you trusted too easily and you made someone else their star. Giiiiirl get it together. You are deadass the main character without even trying, yet you feel insecurities that aren't even there. Seriously who says one star is better than the other? They are all equally beautiful. And like a snowflake, no two are like the other. Your card was The Star pile 3. ⭐️✨️ You are constantly putting bad eggs on the pedastal while you reduce yourself down to less than that of dirt. It's so sad to hear and see pile 3. People can clearly see that you are insecure, and you like to hold feelings like jealousy because you feel a sense of incomplete. Oof that was really deep pile 3, please let me know if I hit a nerve. This is coming from love I promise. ♡♡♡
✿ Advice From Spirit ✿
Pile 3, never let your dreams die. You know that you are on the right path when you are following it with clear conscice intentions. Your spirit already knows what to do. Just tap into your intuition and follow it. Embrace your unique talents and always let them shine brightly. My one bit of advice I think every gamer should hear:
GO PLAY OUTER WILDS.
Seriously. It is easily one of my top 5 games of all time, and that's mainly because I'm being cagey about if it's the #1, because it probably is.
It's a game where you're a little alien who is taking their first flight into space, in their little spaceship. You go to space and find a mystery, and have to figure it out.
It's a game entirely about learning things about the world you're in: it's a tiny solar system modeled amazingly well, with varied planetary environments, archaeology, and quantum fun.
It's a game that's hard to talk about without spoiling, because it's about solving the mysteries. There used to be some other aliens here, they're long gone. What happened to them? Their whole society was built around trying to find something: what was it? Did they find it? And there's a weird disastrous event that keeps happening, why? Can you stop it? Should you stop it? Is it connected to the other weird things that keep happening? What happened to that ice planet that exploded with vines? One of the astronauts who came before you was the best pilot who ever lived, but they vanished. What happened to them? And why can you sometimes hear their harmonica over the radio when you point it at your own planet?
The game is wonderful and non-linear and the most unique approach to a Metroidvania I've seen years: it's basically "what if we did the Metroidvania idea but with no items or power ups? What if the thing that you got to unlock new areas WAS INSIDE THE PLAYER'S HEAD?"
Because you don't unlock the next area by picking up the high-jump boots, you unlock it by learning something new. Now you can do something you didn't realize you could before, but now you know you can.
And that's only one of the amazing concepts they stuffed in this game. The itemless Metroidvania, the tiny simulated solar system, the quantum mechanics... Each of these alone could be enough to carry an indie game. They stuffed them all in one game combined with a great story, and that's in a gamewith relatively little dialogue!
There's like a dozen people to talk to, but you spent a lot of time reading conversations left by the long-gone aliens. You get to know them, what they were working for, how they interacted, and what happened to them, thousands of years later. It's less the bioshock style audio-logs, and more like going over bits of ancient writing, making connections and correlations from the fragments you can find.
And don't get me wrong, this might sound like this game is going to be dry and boring: it is so very not. It is a game about mysteries in the void of space, the death of a civilization, and the potentially world-ending dangers that face a living one, and even bigger concepts. It could so easily be a cosmic horror, about the cold death of space and the universe itself, and the nihilism of realizing that even a race that could cross the gap between the stars and bend spacetime to their will... They too died out. If they couldn't make it, what hope do you have, in your little spaceship that's primarily made of WOOD?
And yet... The game is always engaging. It has a few scares, and space is never a safe place to be, but it maintains a sense of humor and wonder. Yes, the universe can be scary, but it's also amazing. And you're just a little salamander-guy who wants to see it all, and figure out all the things. Maybe you don't know something yet, but tomorrow is a new day, and you can go blasting off to another planet, find some writing in a city suspended upside down over a black hole, try to fly into the core of a water planet, dodge giant anglerfish inside the warped space of an exploded planet, and try to explore an ancient city that's slowly filling with sand. It is a game about Things Ending, and it refuses to give into despair. It is one of the most relentlessly optimistic games I have ever played.
And the experience of playing it is so unique. This isn't a game where you could watch a letsplay and only get spoiled on some plot points, it's a game where the fundamental gameplay loop is about learning things. You should try it for yourself. It's got hints and many different avenues to explore (and it even keeps track of them for you, in case you forget!), so you don't have to worry much about getting stuck for too long. You can always put aside a "puzzle" and come back later, after you've learned more. (I put puzzle in quotes because it's not exactly a puzzle game. It's more of a mystery game. You aren't solving a logic puzzle or putting the pegs into the right holes, you're asking "Why is this like this? Where does this go? What is this for?" and then figuring that out from clues)
It's like 25$ on steam, and you can get it for Playstation and Xboxes as well (sadly no Switch version. They were working on one but it seems that version has stalled, with no announced release date)
You can probably get it for like 10$ if you're patient and wait for a sale.
One final note: there's also a DLC. The DLC is fully self-contained, in that you won't miss anything playing the main game without it. It basically adds a huge side-area to the game which goes and fills in some gaps in the history, explains some things, and introduces some more variety to the Outer Wilds universe.
It's utterly amazing, too. It's basically Outer Wilds 2 in everything but name, but it's totally fine to just grab the base game and play that. You can always come back and grab the DLC later if you want more Outer Wilds.
Seriously. To sum up, Outer Wilds is one of the greatest games ever made, it won a ton of awards, and it should have won more. They should invent more gaming awards just to give to Outer Wilds. This is one of the games that is going to be talked about in future "history of gaming" classes and put on lists of the 50 most groundbreaking and influential games, alongside things like Myst and King's Quest and Zork and Mass Effect. It's just that good, that groundbreaking.

You said you wished to be added to the mistranslation mailing group so I'll send you everything I've come across playing thru SDR2 original. Keep in mind I'm only on chapter 1 right now. I am not a #gamer so I pick it up and play it like once every 2 weeks LMAO.
Also half of this stuff is gonna be copy-pasted from chats I've had on discord with friends but it's the same info :>
i got to this part in the game (seen below) but the wording in the jp version is like "Hey, hey! Now, Hanamura-kun, what did I say?" Komaeda specifically uses ってば which indicates extreme annoyance and is usually used by women (teen girls) so i found it really cute
2. hajime of course doesnt use keigo (polite speech) ever, except when he first meets sonia, he suddenly starts talking politely
3. in the official english version when teruteru urges hajime to discuss dirty stuff with him in private, hajime just says "...no thanks." however a more apt translation would be hajime saying in a very flat voice "I'll have to restrain myself" or even "I'm invoking my right to refuse." (遠慮ておく) the way it comes off is a very dry way of telling him off.
4. there's also a thing in the prologue where hajime thinks, "At any rate, if this is a nightmare, I have no idea if it's even started yet... Sheesh, what kind of nightmare is that?" but in the Japanese version it comes across as more tongue in cheek (if that's the way to put it). it's more like this: "Regardless, I can't even tell if this is a nightmare or not, or even what kind of nightmare... Jeez, what a nightmare!"
5. below are 3 screenshots. The first 2 from the official translations, the third from the Something Awful forums fan translation (before the official existed). As you can see they are quite different.
Here is the Japanese text:
when talking about this with my friend, I said:
As per usual it seems to be a case of the official translation being very literal and the fan translation taking tone more into account. The literal translation is:
Kazuichi: it's an unbelievable thought, but...those two are in a male-female relationship, don't you think so? Hajime: a "male-female" relationship? That is not how a teenager should put it.
The wording is more or less "not befitting of someone of young age", with a heavy masculine/imperative tone (since hajime uses ぞ). I'd personally translate it something like:
Kazuichi: I know this sounds crazy, but...those two, dont'cha think they could be havin' an affair goin' on? (Kazuichi speaks with a slight accent in the JP version) Hajime: "an affair"? You're talking like an old man.
I think an equally as accurate but localized translation would be something like " "an affair"? You *are* a teenager, aren't you?" but that sounds slightly stilted. Hajime also later says only 2 lines later "The more he talks, the more he sounds like a dirty old man." Hence my thoughts on changing the line slightly. All in all I think the fan translation did a pretty good job sliding in from Hajime's initial comment to his thought on Kazuichi sounding like a "middle aged man" (as it is put in the Japanese original). Honestly it's funnier than whatever I could come up with lmao
^in general, Hajime (or Hazime as he was originally known as in the JP version, am I the only one who thinks of this a lot? Anyways...) is very prone to dry/blunt humor. It's kind of similar to Haruhi Fujioka in Ouran Highschool (if you've seen that show). The issue is, a loooot of the text in Danganronpa one and two are translated super literally. This isn't a huge issue all of the time (though is very obvious pretty much in every sentence), but when you have a character who's supposed to be dry/blunt, focusing more on their words and less on the tone and meaning behind the words is why Hajime talks like a Redditor in the English version. Which is a shame, because he's very funny in the Japanese version to me.
Some more points...these are from the top of my head so I am no longer quoting discord.
In Danganronpa 2.5, I think it's the only time Komaeda uses imperative speech? I may be proven wrong once I play thru all of SDR2. Anyways, imperative speech is seen as really rude in Japanese. Of course anime rules are slightly different (many characters ESPECIALLY SHONEN characters will use imperative speech like it's just another Monday) but it's notable for Komaeda because I don't think he's ever used it before. He uses it in 2.5 when World Destroyer slides into his DMs (when he threatens Komaeda and his friends). Komaeda throws his phone on the bed and yells 黙れよ!which is the forceful imperative of "to be quiet". Given the context and Komeada's usual casual but not rude speech, I would actually translate that part as "Shut the fuck up!" the widely available fan(?) translation just has him say "I've heard enough!"
It's a very interesting point when analyzing Komaeda's character especially in 2.5.
Another thing I never understood about SDR2's translation is the removal of accents and certain quirks. Nekomaru talks like a wise old master in some ways...which is totally different from the heavy shonen talk I was expecting (which he has for sure, but I was not expecting that part of him. It actually made me like him a lot more.)
Kazuichi, for lack of a better comparison, talks kind of...gangster-y? I'm unsure how to put it. He would be saying things like "bro is tweakin' skibidi style" or whatever. Again, it makes sense with his character. Kazuichi in his FTEs talks about how people basically profile him without learning who he is. The way he talks only adds to the "delinquent" impression he gives off, which is where Hajime had the initial misunderstanding.
Komaeda uses more filler particles than the average character in the game I would say, at least enough for it to stand out to me. I don't know if Makoto was the same (I'd have to re-check it's been a while), but I've caught him using "redundant" amounts of ね and さ, which would most closely translate as "uh" or "um" or even "like" in English. It's not constant and he's much more well-spoken when he's rambling about hope/despair (ironically), but it was enough for it to be noticeable to me. I just wonder why it's not in the English version.
Of course, all the characters have their own speech quirks as you've probably picked up...Hajime talks very masculine and kind of rudely, Mikan is very polite, stuff like that.
OH! Here's a fun one.
from UTDP. This got completely fucked in English. It's actually one of the worst mistranslations in the series aside from Komaeda's love confession IMO.
I don't blame the translation team wholly because if you look at the original Japanese text...
it's not very clear. But still, I think it's pretty obvious that this is how the conversation was MEANT to go:
Hajime: Komaeda...give me your hand. Komaeda: Huh...? Why? Hajime: "Why"? We're going to do a handshake. Normally, I wouldn't go out of my way to ask this, but... Hajime: Will you be my friend? Komaeda: ...Hinata-kun, do you really think this will mean anything?
This is getting long so I will leave this, because as a translator/localizer this article speaks to me very much. Specifically...
Another benefit to a good localization is that it will be truer to the intentions of the original creators than a strict translation by allowing a Western player to be entertained by it in the same way the creators intended their Japanese players to be entertained by the original – you’re laughing at the same points, and crying your eyes out at the same points, too.
That's kind of why I dislike the official ENG SDR2 translation. It is not very faithful to the emotional meaning of the original text in many ways. And I think that's a very important part about translating stories...
Whew that was a lot. If you aren't already bugged by this, I'll make sure to stop by and send more sometime :] fun fact: according to the SDR2 official art book, Komaeda's favorite food is bread, specifically toast, and he dislikes white rice.
Whoops, I didn’t see this in my inbox until now. I’m not bugged at all—thank you for the lore, and I’d greatly appreciate any more when you have it! I’m not as confident or aware about some of these particle nuances, too, so it’ll be educational.

Enjoy!
Waking up to an empty bed on a shared day off was extremely unusual for you. Typically, when you and your boyfriend had the same days off, you'd both lounge in bed together well into the afternoon, just relaxing and enjoying each other's company. You'd usually be starfished out across the mattress reading Webtoons on your phone, while Jisung would be cuddled up between your legs, his back against your mid-section while he watched an anime on his laptop.
So, when you woke up to nothing but emptiness beside you one random Thursday morning, you were more than a little concerned. That was until you heard the faint sound of Jisung cursing aggressively coming from two rooms over.
A smile spread across your face almost immediately as you pulled yourself out of bed and wrapped one of Jisung's oversized hoodies around you. It had been a long time since he had stepped foot inside the game room.
With one comeback finishing and another one right around the corner, you haven't seen any of the guys online at all lately. They must've finally all gotten a couple days off together because Jisung never went online unless all of them did.
You were anxious to see what game they were playing, and admittedly, excited for the possibility of a gaming day with your boyfriend. Sure, lounging in bed all day with take-out and anime was the perfect way to spend time together, but you'd be lying if you said you didn't miss the days' pre-5-star comeback where the two of you would be in front of your computers for hours on end.
You grabbed your phone and slipped on a pair of comfy slippers before tiptoeing out of the room, giggling quietly to yourself as you listened to Jisung's annoyed words sounding all the way from down the hall.
"Yah! Quit camping and come face me like a man, Hyung!" Something akin to a laugh and a groan of frustration left Jisung's mouth shortly before a loud "Fuck!" echoed off the walls.
"Lino-hyung, you're so fucking dead!"
Once you reached the door to the game room where you and Jisung had computers set up side by side, you leaned against the door frame and watched him silently in admiration. Jisung sat in his big black leather chair, the RGB lights in the computer tower the only source of light in the room as they flashed different shades of red against the stark white walls.
His back was to you, his big chunky headphones covering both of his ears and his microphone stand that he got from Felix that previous holiday season was sitting way too close to his mouth. You had to suppress a laugh when his lips grazed the metal mesh of the mic so hard you could hear Changbin yelling through the headset for Jisung to stop eating it.
He was a rapper through and through on and off stage. You made a mental note to pick him up a foam microphone cover to help keep his teeth from grazing the material, and more importantly, help prevent Changbin from killing Jisung altogether.
"Top right, top right, top right," he then spoke quickly, his shoulders tensing up for a moment before relaxing again. "Nice one Seung. Good coms." he then praised.
You watched him for a couple more minutes before stepping into the room and coming up behind him. You were careful not to startle him while he was so clearly focused on his game, your hands lightly resting on his shoulders so he knew you were there.
"They're rushing B, they're rushing B, they're rushing B! Oh, hi Baby!" Jisung turned his head for a moment to beam up at you adorably with those large, brown eyes and full cheeks. He grinned and kissed the back of your hand quickly before he went back to focusing on the screen in front of him.
"Fuck, I died. Sorry. Innie behind you!"
Your eyes immediately became glued to the computer screen as he called for Jeongin again, another smile making its way to your face. They were playing Call of Duty, your current favorite game to play, and you had a sudden urge to sit down next to him at your own computer and join.
During the weeks leading up to the release of 5-Star, you spent a lot of your free time online playing the game with your own friends while Jisung and the boys prepared for their comeback. Jisung knew you loved to game, he loved that you did, but he didn't know just how good you had gotten at it in the hours you spent home alone while he was away.
You genuinely did love the game, as the franchise itself was one you played throughout your years growing up, but you mostly wanted to show off to Jisung and the rest of the guys. They would always tease you for playing 'girly' games, like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing, and even occasionally, The Sims 4, so you were determined to improve your FPS skills and impress them.
"Fuck, how did you even see me there Binnie-hyung?" Jisung whined as you watched his screen go grey. He pressed a button on his RGB keyboard and quickly brought up the scoreboard to see how he was doing, and you saw that they were playing a 4v4 match. Hyungs vs Maknaes.
This wasn't going to end well.
When it was the older four versus the younger four, it never did.
"Aha, get on my level, bitch." Changbin taunted in response.
You felt Jisung's shoulders tense under your touch when the game ended a second later, his death being the final kill. He hit the top of the desk with his fist lightly in annoyance at his comical and unfortunate death before a laugh left his throat.
"Don't look at that guys!" he begged as the 'Final Kill' camera replayed across the screen. His hands went up to cover his face in embarrassment. "Please! I'm so embarrassed!"
You couldn't tell if the sound that left his throat a second later was a cry or a laugh, but you assumed the latter as you watched the Kill Cam show his character flying back into the match on a parachute. Changbin had seen him clear as day and sniped him right out of the sky, leaving Jisung's character to fall dramatically to the ground.
You could hear the hoots of laughter coming through the headset from the rest of the guys, his teammates included, and it made a laugh of your own escape your mouth before you could stop it. Jisung turned to look at you with squinted eyes, a playful grin on his face as he gaped at you in mock betrayal.
"Baby!" he cried as he watched your shoulders shake with the force of your laughter. "You're supposed to be on my side!" he feigned offense.
"I'm sorry Sungie," you giggled as you squeezed his shoulders reassuringly and planted a soft kiss onto his messy bedhead. Jisung sent you a playful pout before he turned back around. "You're just too cute for words."
Jisung scoffed and returned your affection, planting another kiss on your hand as the final scoreboard flashed onto the screen. Interested to see how everyone played, you leaned in to take a look at everyone's scores.
Hyungs (4/4) Score: 100
[3Racha] DaddyDwaekki99; Kills:37 Deaths:9
[3Racha] xCB97x; Kills:30 Deaths:15
[SKZOO] Butt-Hunter0325; Kills:25 Deaths:18

Maknaes (4/4) Score: 66
[SKZOO] BrownieBoiT_T; Kills:29 Deaths:12
[SKZOO] Nimgnues148; Kills:20 Deaths:27
[SKZOO] XxMAKNA3.0N.T0PxX; Kills:13 Deaths:27
[3Racha] QuokkaPrince; Kills:4 Deaths:34
"Are you serious? How the hell did I do worse than Hyune?" Jisung grumbled as he looked at the scores, his face falling to one of disappointment. You could hear Bangchan cackling light-heartedly through the headset.
You let your hands then slide down Jisung's broad chest and hugged him tightly against you in an attempt to cheer him up. You kissed the top of his head again before resting your chin on it.
"Hey, I think you did good." you voiced. Jisung's hand came up to rub your arm in appreciation, though he was still frowning to himself.
"You're supposed to say that," he mumbled. "You're my girlfriend."
You just smiled down at him and leaned over to plant a kiss on his cheek. Jisung then lightly tapped his microphone to mute it before he reached up to cup your face, bringing your lips back to his for a gentle kiss. You smiled against his mouth before pulling away.
He tasted like coffee.
"Good morning, Jagi. Did you sleep well?" he asked now that he finally had a moment to talk with the game being over. You nodded and pressed a firm kiss to his exposed forehead, causing him to smile up at you.
"I slept perfectly," you answered with an adoring smile as you brushed some hair out of his face. Jisung craned his head back and puckered his lips once more, silently asking for another kiss, which you happily obliged.
His lips were slightly chapped and dry, probably from all the talking he'd been doing and lack of hydration, but they still felt warm against yours. You felt a shiver run down your spine when his tongue found yours a moment later, your body tingling with pleasure the way it always did when kissing him, even after all these years together.
"Did you eat?" you asked after his lips pulled away from you. The guys were busy upgrading their guns and changing their specs, so you had a little bit of alone time with Jisung before he was called back for another round.
"Mhmm., Jisung hummed as he swiveled his chair around and pulled you into his lap. He planted a kiss on your cheek and wrapped his arms lovingly around your waist before nuzzling his face into your neck. He loved physical touch with you, and he'd eat it up every chance he got. "I sure did. Just had some eggs and toast. There's coffee left if you want any."
"Thanks, Baby." you grinned down at him as you wrapped one arm around his neck and pulled him impossibly closer to you. His lips found purchase on the skin of your throat where he began peppering small pecks of love all over. "I'm really happy to see you back in here finally. You guys have all been working really hard lately and you all deserve time off to relax and have fun."
"There's a double XP event happening this week so we're trying to all get upgraded before we have to go back to work," he explained. You hummed in response, content with the affection he was currently giving you in between words. Jisung then pulled away, giving you an anxious look.
"Is it okay if I spend a couple of hours gaming with them? We can go watch some shows if you want to instead, I don-" You cut him off abruptly with a shake of your head and a hand over his mouth. Jisung peered up at you with wide eyes, waiting nervously for your response.
"Sungie, baby, if you want to spend the day gaming with the guys, I'm all for it. I promise," you assured him with a quick kiss to his nose. "I was actually thinking of joining you, honestly. It's been a long time since we had a gaming day."
You moved your hands to tangle in the wisps of hair that sat at the nape of his neck, toying aimlessly with the freshly-dyed strands of dark brown.
"Yeah?" he asked with a smirk. "You gonna' play some Stardew or something?"
You grinned down at him shyly.
"Actually, I was going to ask if I could try a round of Call of Duty with you guys. Would you teach me?"
Jisung's eyebrows disappeared behind his hair as he looked at you in shock. His mouth fell open slightly as if he couldn't believe his ears before it broke out into the most adorable smile you've ever seen.
"You want me to teach you how to play?" he asked, excitement already causing him to vibrate in his seat. He'd been waiting for the day for you to ask him to teach you how to play all his favorite games, even though there weren't a lot of them. He was absolutely ecstatic at your inquiry, he could barely mask it as he jumped happily.
"Of course, I will teach you, Baby!" he squealed when you nodded. "I'm not very good myself, but we can do a one-on-one match so you can get used to the controls without being overwhelmed."
The excitement and happiness on his soft features almost made you blow your cover. He was so cute when he got excited over little things like this. It made you fall impossibly more in love with him.
You shook your head quickly before he could even finish his sentence, causing confusion to glaze over in his stare.
"I want to play with the guys. Right now. I want the next round," you claimed as you shifted on his lap, turning around to take the mouse in your hand. Your other hand landed on the keyboard and your fingers twitched with anticipation. They fell perfectly into place and you hoped to god Jisung didn't notice.
Jisung was taken by surprise at your eagerness, but he just laughed and wrapped his arm around you and went to unmute the mic before you grabbed ahold of his wrist and stopped him.
"Don't tell the guys I'm playing. I want to surprise them," you insisted. Jisung raised an eyebrow at you.
"Surprise them how?" he asked slowly, his eyes suspicious yet amused. You beamed back and kissed him on the nose once more.
"I'm going to win this round for you. That'll stop them from teasing you so much." You could hear the guys shit-talking each other through the headset Jisung had looped around his neck when you initially sat down. It was all in good fun, obviously, but they were making a lot of digs at Jisung, which only made you more determined to bring home a win for Ji and the Maknaes.
Jisung gave you a skeptical look, biting his lower lip in uncertainty when he realized how serious you were.
"Have you played this game before?" he questioned. You shrugged your shoulders nonchalantly.
"Once or twice while you were at work." you fibbed, hoping he didn't catch onto your lie the way he always did with you.
"Alright, but if you fuck up my K-D ratio, I'm gon' be really upset." he teased. He sat himself up straighter so he could lean his chin on your shoulder and watch. You rolled your eyes at him and let out a snarky remark, to which he laughed.
"Can't fuck it up more than it already is."
"Har har, very funny."
Jisung hooked his headset back onto one ear, allowing you to listen in on the conversation as well. You took the time to make yourself your own custom gun class, one that you were used to and had been using for months prior, but you tried to act clueless as you put it together.
So far, so good.
Jisung, and the rest of the guys for that matter, had no clue what was coming for them.
"Alright, so move your character using the WASD keys." Jisung lightly pushed the hand on the keyboard out of his way and demonstrated for you. "Space is jump and 'R' is reload. Use the middle button on the mouse-" he quickly moved his other hand to hover over yours, demonstrating again. "to use your lethal equipment, and the '1' key to switch to your tactical equipment."
You nodded along, playing dumb as you repeated his actions.
"The left mouse button is how you fire your weapon, while the right mouse button is used to aim down sight. 'E' is used to interact with shit around the world, and 'M' will bring up your map." he continued on without hesitation, waiting for you to nod in understanding before moving on to the next. "You can crouch and slide by pressing the 'C' key, or you can lay down by holding it. Cool?"
You nodded again, biting your lower lip to stop a laugh from escaping your throat as his vague instructions. Jisung misunderstood your action and began rubbing his hands up and down your arms reassuringly.
"It's okay, Baby. Don't be nervous. You got this. I'll be your eyes and ears, okay?"
After going over the rest of the controls, all of which you already knew and more, Jisung unmuted his mic and hopped back into the conversation the guys were having about the upcoming album due to come out in the next couple of months.
His hands were now resting on your hips reassuringly while he talked with the guys, acting as if he was playing, and you felt yourself getting jittery from the anticipation that tore through you when the countdown finally began.
When the clock hit zero and all players were free to move, you quickly worked your way around the familiar map and went directly to your favorite vantage point, perfect for sniping off of. Jisung snorted to himself when he saw your character pull out the sniper rifle you customized.
"Good luck, Sweetheart. Binnie-hyung is a sniper king," he mumbled quietly enough for only you to hear. You shook your head.
"Not for long," you whispered back.
Felix's voice came barreling through the headset suddenly, causing you to jump as adrenaline pumped through your veins. You loved the rush that came with these FPS games.
"Roof of the red building!" he yelled excitedly. Jisung's finger came up to point out where Binnie's character was sneakily army-crawling across a rooftop in the distance, just like Felix had said. You pulled out your sniper, aimed down your sight, and lined up the shot. In a second, POW! Binnie had died in one swift shot to the head.
"What the fuck?" Changbin laughed in disbelief into his mic, confusion clear in his tone. "Are you using a sniper rifle, Ji?"
You held back a cackle at his words, allowing Jisung to answer with a small laugh of his own, the disbelief in his own voice barely unnoticed. "Yeah, I figured I'd change it up a bit." he offered to his older member. He sounded so casual, but his eyebrows were once again raised in surprise as your lucky shot.
Looking through the scope of your gun, you watched as Changbin's character climbed back onto the same roof moments later and aimed his own rifle in your direction, a flash of light in the distance. You were quick to get up from your crouched position and move away from his field of view, your fingers dancing across the keyboard as you changed position and sniped him again from a different angle.
POW!
Dead again.
Binnie let out a string of curse words as his body rolled dramatically off the roof to the ground below.
"Yah! What the fuck?" he laughed again.
You knew your cover was now blown, so you jumped from the rooftop you were lying across and parachuted down to the ground, running for cover when you heard gunshots going off all around you.
"Ji, behind you!" Jeongin shouted. You twirled your character around and pulled out your secondary weapon, a simple pistol, seeing Lino's character running towards you at full speed with nothing but a knife in his hand.
Typical Lino.
You smirked at his antics and shot him point blank before he could reach you, causing Lino to squeal dramatically like a girl into the mic, which in turn, made you and Jisung both wince at the unusually high pitch of it.
"Nooooo! Dammit!" he laughed.
Jisung gave you a soft high-five at your kill and watched in awe as the game continued.
For fifteen minutes, you sat rock solid in Jisung's lap, your eyes hyper-focused on the screen as you ran across the map, killing off the Hyungs and racking up your team's points. The boys were all shocked at Jisungs 'sudden skill', suspicious of him cheating or hacking the system, but he had lost the ability to defend himself as he was too shocked to even say anything in response.
He muted his mic and was cheering you on, congratulating you on every kill and assist you got. He had chalked it all up to beginner luck, but when you got the game-winning kill, sniping Chan from across the map where he hid almost too perfectly between two barrels, barely in your sights, he knew.
He knew this wasn't your first, second, or even third time playing. Based on the snicker on your face when the scoreboard popped up, deeming you first place on the winning team, he knew you'd been practicing while he was away at work. And while he was envious of your skill and abilities, he was more proud than anything else.
"Okay, Ji, seriously? What the fuck?" How did you get from the bottom of the scoreboard to the top in the span of five rounds?" Felix was in awe. You smiled over at Jisung upon hearing the younger males' question., and before Jisung could answer with some cocky response you knew he'd have, you tapped the mic to unmute it and spoke into it playfully.
"Hi guys," you giggled.
As much as you wanted Jisung to take credit, you couldn't. You worked so hard to impress these guys and you didn't want to pass up the opportunity to prove them wrong with their teasing.
"Holy shit, Y/n?" Hyunjin chuckled in disbelief. "Was that you playing the entire round?"
"The one and only," you confirmed with a smirk.
"Fuck, I want you on my team next time. You snipe better than I do." Changbin spoke next. You shook your head and tsked at him.
"Sorry Binnie, no can do."
"Why not?" Hyunjin then added. "You're technically mine and Changbin-hyungs Noona, so you're playing on the wrong team!" You could practically hear his frown through the speaker of Jisung's headphones.
"Sorry guys. I play for Jisung and Jisung only."
Seungmin scoffed playfully at your words.
"You're a fucking simp." he joked. You laughed alongside everyone else before hitting them with the final blow.
"Looks like you guys are just going to have to, what is it that Binnie said last round? Get on my level, bitch." you mocked.
The guys all burst out into laughter at your impression, Binnie included.
While the guys went on to boast about your incredible win, Jisung muted the microphone once more and nuzzled his face back into your neck lovingly.
"You're a little shit," he teased, his nose tracing the shape of your ear. A shiver ran up your spine as his hot breath fanned across your throat.
"What did I do?" you asked innocently as you tilted your head to the side, allowing him to trace his nose along your neck before plating a teasing kiss below your jaw. He squeezed your hips and nibbled your skin gently as he laughed at your innocent tone.
"You've been playing this a lot, haven't you?" he questioned before biting your neck again and sucking the skin into his mouth. You sensed he was punishing you for playing him so well, but you didn't mind. You loved the feeling of his mouth on your skin.
"Every day while you're at work." you breathed out. "Gotta' learn how to put the boys in their place for teasing you so much. Gotta protect my baby." you then cooed.
Jisung's hands trailed up your sides again, sliding underneath the fabric of his sweater. His touch on your skin felt electric as his mouth teased your earlobe, his hands traveling further up your torso.
The bulge in his pants that he was rutting against you was growing harder with each passing second. Leave it to Jisung to get turned on by something as simple as you knowing how to game.
"Fuck," he whispered in an adoring tone. "I really hit the fucking jackpot with you, Jagi."

YIPPEE okay so I do have a whole propaganda post abt it I can probably dig up but the base line is that mad rat dead is a rhythm based 2d platfomer where you play as a dead rat given one last day to chase after whatever last wish he wants to achieve before he dies. the rhythm aspect is that each movement correlates to your rat's heartbeat (his heart is a key character, by the way! he's also very cute I really like him) and the in-game music is kind of. an auditory hallucination I guess. kinda like crypt of the necrodancer if youve played that. eh don't think abt the lore too hard anyway the point is that the gameplays really unique, and though it can be a bit confusing to focus on the hand-ear-eye coordination at first the game's main gimmick actually helps with that (and makes it Much more accessible to newbies). it only takes one hit to kill you in this game, but when you die all it does is gives you the option to rewind however many beats you want before that death. so, it gives you enough attempts to trial-and-error it that it feels really satisfying to memorize how to deal with stage layouts!! also because of that it's kind of hard to lose a level in mrd, it is time-based and you lose time off your clock when you rewind but it usually takes a Lot of rewinds to get to 0. on my first run of the game I only lost two levels and they were the final two. there is an easy mode that completely nullifies the clock though!! there's also a hard mode which takes the steady beats from normal and adds three-counts that fit the song a lot more snugly and it is Hard to start but they feel a lot more satisfying when you memorize the beat patterns. also the plot is sweet!! I can't talk much about it but it's very focused on character interactions between your two main characters (mad rat and his heart) and it Is a decent story overall. also the aesthetics Slap if u can't already tell and the music is. so good. it's got a Bunch of rhythm game composers like a_hisa and camellia as well as a good handful of songs from dyes iwasaki (of fake type if you know them!). honestly it's one of the few games to me that I believe has No bad tracks, but I maaay link some favorites.
youtube
youtube
youtube
youtube
youtube
aaand one gameplay video to show how it plays. though I'll note this one's on hard mode, normally it doesn't have the red notes, so it's a good indicator of what hard mode is like too.
youtube
my last note is that mad rat dead does have a free demo!! it's got the whole first chapter of the game in both normal and hard mode which is 5 whole levels (a pretty decent chunk of really good songs!)
though I will also note that the game (even the demo) has a Ton of cartoon gore and body horror so do watch out for that if you're sensitive to that kinda stuff!
scampering into your asks. do you want to Learn about mad rat dead. definitely not because I'm hyperfixated at all and Definitely not because I love selling people on games I like. :3c
oH ABSOLUTELY YESYES!! >:D I looked a little bit when I first saw the art because it looked interesting, and I think it's pretty neato >,3c
we shake hands when it comes to hyperfixations and you're def welcome to talk about it!! :DD
#HAD TO CUT MYSELF TO JUST 5 SONGS and missed some of my favs because i wanted to cover a lot of genres#some of my other favorites are underground hug and mini moon for the record. and neuchatel. those 3 plus nightmare road and electroqtie#are my top 5 definitely#i cannot be concise ever in my life but the moral is that it has a free demo so u should at least download that if ur at all interested#it is a very Fun If A Bit Hard to learn Difficult But Satisfying to master type game but like#i need to emphasize that it Is newbie proof. you do not need to be good at rhythm games to play mad rat dead#but yeah id really recommend it!!#last warning though is that it Is a little bit short of a game if you know what youre doing. its worth the price tag if u do repeated runs#to practice and get better but for just a one time thing it Is short#also again w the newbie proof. im good at this game but i was by no means always good at this game. i was hot garbage when i picked it up#i still get confused w songs i dont play as often i just. hyperfixated and committed the entire osts hard patterns to memory. oops#but yeah what im trying to say is that it Is a good experience for all gamer demographics and play mad rat dead please#Youtube

I’ve been looking to find a translation/overview of this article for some time as a more expansive look into East Asian (specifically Chinese in this case) male gacha consumers views on female and male characters in these games and what they represent. this was touched upon a bit in this post from January and also in the “gacha design” post. I think there is still some confusion with westerners playing these games thinking the female characters are specifically designed for women and the male characters for men, because with more western games (and media) you will typically get the grizzled male protag look and anything with a female MC is ridiculed by male gamers as pandering/“woke”/“SJW”/etc, take your pick bc this shit all means the same thing. but typically in gacha an all-female cast has been made to appeal to male consumers, and an all male cast will pander to women. Just look at something like NIKKE (all female cast) VS Ensemble Stars (all male). when there is a male character who is extremely popular with female players and has obviously been designed for that demographic, this is when you will see the explosive violent anger from misogynist male fans like what happened with the Genshin Impact character Wanderer. This happened with the Korean incels and the character Lyney, the Honkai Star Rail male characters who have boob windows like Aventurine also catch their ire for being sexualized in a similar way to the female designs. they hate any male character that appeals to women and/or “looks gay”, you can find plenty of western players speaking about the Genshin male characters like this as well. these groups tend to be extremely misogynistic and homophobic (we saw this with their comments during their disastrous “blimp protest”) but no surprise there I’m sure. because Genshin is a very popular mixed sex gacha that consistently tops charts, it’s believed by these men to be the reason why newer gacha games have both male and female characters instead of solely female, and they go so far as to call this effect (among other things) the “genshinification” of gacha games. I think this is important to learn about if you want to understand why a particular demographic of men play these games and why they react in certain ways to specific characters.
this article looks into the male Chinese gacha player phenomenon essentially called something like “Don’t play if there are men”, referring to mixed sex gacha games. It begins by explaining how the “movement” really started speaking out aggressively when Genshin Impact had back to back to back limited male 5-star releases for multiple patches in a row.
you can trudge along with a clunky MTL of the entire thing (I’ve just posted the beginning here) but I’ve found 2 comments in english that speak about this article-

YooYoo; Hey Y/N so the girls and I are free this Saturday so we were wondering if you wanted to go to the club with us?
You; OMG YES! I've missed hanging out with you guys so bad!
YooYoo; Same, Wonwoo's been hogging you T T
You; Yeah and our jobs too
When you got that text from Yoohyeon, your best friend, you felt ecstatic. You've missed her and the other girls too. It's been so long since you all got to hang out together as group, so of course you'd take any chance to hang out with them even in a environment you didn't really enjoy like the club for example. That's why Yoohyeon was the closest to you, she always got you to go out your comfort zone and experience something crazy and unimaginable for you. You loved them all so much.
It reach Saturday and around 5:30pm you started getting ready. You took a nice shower, washed your face, did skincare before doing your makeup. You didn't want to put too much makeup on but appropriate enough for a club. You were watching a video on your phone while doing your makeup to have something to entertain you and distract you from frustration. When you finally finished the frustrating part you finally moved on to base. In the midst of doing your base you felt strong arms wrap around your waist.
"You getting ready for your night with the girls?" Wonwoo asked.
"Yes I am," You smiled widely.
"What you are gonna do while I'm gone?" You asked looking at him from the mirror. Admiring his features.
"I'm gonna do a stream in a minute or so," He answered and kissed your cheek. You put down your makeup sponge and turned to kiss him on the lips softly. It's like you could see the love and admiration in his eyes for you.
"I love you baby," He whispered against your lips before kissing you again.
"I love you too," You smiled.
Some time past and you finally finished your makeup. You could hear Wonwoo talking from his game room so you assumed he's already streaming. You went into your shared bedroom and picked out an outfit to wear. You went with a white corset top that made your boobs look good (and Wonwoo really likes that top), along with some black business pants with Wonwoo's black blazer. You changed into the outfit and then went back into the bathroom to add finishing touches. Suddenly you remembered the last time you went out with just friends a lot of people were hitting on you, and as much as you like the confidence boost it gave you, it also made your night difficult. You also recalled that you had an diamond ring that your mother handed down to you. You went back into the bedroom and looked for it but you couldn't find it. You wondered if Wonwoo knew where it would be. You knocked on the door to the gaming room.
"Come in!" You heard him shout.
"Hey baby sorry to interrupt but have you seen that ring my mother gave me?" You asked while opening the door. You hoped you didn't interrupt.
"Yeah..." His words drifted as he looked at you in surprise.
"Hold on guys," He paused the game and took off his headphones before coming over to you.
"Damn you look sexy," He smirked as he put his hands on your hips.
"Thank you honey," You smiled.
"Now babe I really need that ring," You looked at him sternly.
"Yeah just wait here, talk to the stream if you want," He smiled and pecked your cheek before walking out the room. You walked to his gaming chair and sat down in it. You waved at the camera and saw the chat blow up.
carat_won; Omg they're pretty
wonwoohub; Who are they?
wonwooland; Are they Wonwoo's partner?
xviiwoo; Are you single?
bluerose; Where did Wonwoo go?
That was just a few you could read with the speed of the comments.
"Uh hi, I'm Y/N," You waved with an awkward smile.
"I'm Wonwoo's partner," You added. Luckily, Wonwoo came back into the room in time before you could embarrass yourself. You stood up from the chair and walked over to him.
"Here you go baby," He slid the ring onto your left ring finger. He pecked your cheek before sitting back down in his chair, this time patting his lap for you to sit on, which you did.
"I see you guys met my baby," Wonwoo smiled as he put his headphones on. You knew since dating him he wasn't big on PDA, so this was actually surprising that he is showing you off to his thirty thousand watchers and that you're sitting on his lap in front of them. You like it, it's just a shock.
After a while of chilling on Wonwoo's lap while he played his game with his friends, you got a text from your friend Yoohyeon saying she's here. You told her you'll be there in a minute. Luckily Wonwoo's game was over and he was in the lobby waiting for a new round. You tapped his shoulder as a signal for him to take his headphones off for a minute.
"Baby, Yoo is here, I gotta go," You muttered to him and he nodded.
"Okay honey," He smiled and kissed you softly in front of the camera.
"Have fun," He unhooked his arms from you waist and you stood up.
"I love you Nu," You smiled widely when you opened the door.
"I love you too baby," He smiled at you. You shut the door and went to go put your boots on before walking out the shared apartment.
After a couple of hours passed, your friends except for Yoohyeon, Yubin, and you were drunk but still you didn't want to be the reason the girls had to separate for a minute. So you called Wonwoo asking him to pick you up, you told him the name of the club and he quickly showed up. He saw you outside the club and you spotted him. You got into the car and greeted him.
"Hi baby," You pecked his cheek.
"Hi, did you have fun?" He asked.
"Yeah, minus some guys hitting on me," You blurted. Wonwoo has never really been the jealous type cause he trusts you and knows at the end of the day you come home to him and love him but something about men hitting on you pisses him off still.
We got home to the apartment. He hung up his jacket and the keys along with we kicked your shoes off. Wonwoo followed you into your shared bedroom and hugged you from behind as you took off your makeup. He started peppering kisses down your neck and then your shoulder. His hands went from you waist to cupping your boobs. One hand went to your back to unzip you from your top. He slowly pulled it off of you and then turned you to face him. He started kissing your chest along with your boobs. Wonwoo suddenly stopped leaving you confused that is until you saw him sit on the edge of the bed, waiting for you.
"Come here baby," He called out. You followed his voice and straddled his lap. You grabbed the edges of his shirt and stripped it off of him, revealing his nicely toned figure.
"I think it's only fair we're both shirtless," You grinned before going in to kiss him passionately. You wrapped your arms around his neck as the kiss turned hungry. In between the passion and hunger you started to feel his hands fumble with the button of your pants. You got off of his lap and took off your pants along with your underwear.
"Shit, you're so beautiful," He stood up and kissed your lips softly. He pulled away and took of his sweatpants. He came back to you and kissed you softly once more as his hands caressed your hips. He slipped his arm on your back and the other one on the back of your knees. He picked you up and laid you carefully onto the bed where your legs hung off the edge of the bed. You felt him pick your legs up and rest them on his shoulders. He planted a kiss on your inner thighs, which makes you weak.
He placed a kiss on your clit before licking away. He started licking back and forth, his licking starting slow but he quickly picked up the pace. He started sucking your folds and then without warning added two fingers into your hole, making your back arch as he pumped his fingers in and out of you.
"Wonwoo!" You moaned as you gripped his hair. He hummed as an response, and the vibrations adding more pleasure. He would change from licking to sucking and back to licking making your mind reach the clouds as you came into his mouth. As you were trying to slow your breathing you felt Wonwoo lick you clean before coming to kiss you on your lips. You could taste yourself against him.
When your breathing finally slowed down, he started to kiss down your neck again. His hands squeezing your boobs and then suddenly he latched his mouth onto your left boob and started sucking. His tongue doing circles around your areolas and then he started sucking on your nipple. His other hand playing with your other boob. Oh how he loves your boobs, he loves how soft they are, how squishy they are, he loves how they fit perfectly into his hands when he squeezes them. He abruptly got up off of you and stripped off his last article of clothing. You felt like you could just moan at the sight of him.
"Won..woo," You choked out. He looked up at you with a caring look.
"What is it baby?" He asked.
"I need you," You whined and he smiled. He got on top of you and kissed you softly. He picked up your leg and you wrapped his waist with your leg. He lined himself up and slowly slid into your hole. The slow filling causing you to slowly moan with him.
"Just relax baby," He groaned. After you adjusted he slowly started thrusting in and out. He's going just the right speed to make sure you're okay and also enjoying the pleasure. His hands holding your waist tight enough to possibly bruise.
"Baby c- oh shit can you go faster," You moaned out. He compiled and started going faster.
"So good to me," He moaned. You bit your bottom lip trying to muffle your loud moans. He moved his hand from your waist to your cheek.
"Let me hear your pretty voice honey," He breathed. You arch your head back and let your pleasure be heard. You started moaning loudly as you felt Wonwoo's hand fall from your face to your boob. You started to feel the coil start tightening with each thrust.
"Wonwoo oh shit," You cursed. You started clenching around his dick, making him groan.
"Wonwoo I'm gonna-" You choked.
"It's okay baby let it out," He whispered. With one more thrust, you let go. You came all over him. He continued thrusting, trying not to overstimulate you. He quickly then came inside of you, he continued thrusting it into you as he rode you two through your highs.
He stopped and just stayed over you. You felt him soften and then he slowly pulled out. You groaned at the lost of being filled. He laid down next to you, and pulled you on top of him. Your head resting against his chest, hearing his heart beat start slowing down to a regular speed. He started drawing invisible lines on your back.
"I love you," He whispered.
"I love you too," You replied tiredly. He picked you up and laid you down on the bed. He got up and went to the bathroom. You heard the sound of water start running.
"Baby let's go get clean," He picked you up and carried you to the bathroom. He slowly placed you into the tub. He followed behind you and sat behind you. Your back pressed against his back.
"You're so good to me," He kissed your cheek before helping you wash your body. After the bath, you got dressed in your underwear and one of his shirts. You were laying in bed, cuddled up to him. You were talking about something until you noticedthe shiny object that was still on your hand.
"Oh I left the ring on," You smiled.
"Your hand looks pretty when it's occupied," He smiled and kissed your cheek. You grinned at him.
"I love you so much," You smiled against his lips and kissed him softly.
"I love you too," He kissed you passionately.

When i built my first PC, I'd done a few upgrades, but Youtube did not exist yet so there were not endless videos of "This is how you build a PC". It was fiddly and fussy and i barked my knuckles and I did something temporarily terrifying but it worked out okay and I built my PC. Then prices on bare bones dropped precipitously so for a while I was just buying barebones and upgrading them. It was cheaper that way.
Last year, a couple of games came out that I really wanted to play but my 8 year old laptop, which was making a yeomanlike effort with most games, was just flat out not in spec anymore. So I started to research. Looked at Linus Tech Tips, then JaysTwoCents, then Gamer's Nexus, Paul's hardware, Hardware unboxed... LTT had a great "this is how you do it and this is what each part is supposed to sound like going in, yes the crunching noise here is okay, no your board won't die if you get a little regular thermal paste on it, very reassuring. I watched a lot of build videos, and finally, after a couple of months, I ordered parts.
Infodump under the cut
Now, picking parts is COMPLEX and HARD and FINICKY and it changes all the time. You can be an expert builder, take a couple years off and ignore buiding for a while, and come back and like, all the parts are different! Which parts are good deals has changed! But the fundamentals haven't really changed all THAT much, even since my first build. It's still motherboard, processor, cooler, RAM, storage, power supply, internet device, basically... but gone are IDE and even SATA is now pretty archaic. In 2024, your RAM will look pretty similar but the hard drive is a dinosaur and your storage is now basically a high tech stick of gum. Prices are wild, too. You can build a passable computer which can play most games for about $600 with new parts, or you can spent $4000 to get get the absolute tippy toppy "best" parts, and the parts being actively used and recommend and sold right now cover about FOUR YEARS of product development. This is NUTS. Most of the systems I've built fall in the cheap-to-middling range.
They're all competent at most games, though my mother is annoyed that she's having trouble getting Civ2 up and running on Windows 11 in 2024. I do fine with Alpha Centuari from GOG, but no, that's not good enough. (I like Alpha Centauri about 1000% better than Civ2, but when you've got a game, you've got a game, I guess.)
So where to start?
Look at the Youtubes of the folks I mentioned up top, and look for their "Top X of ___" videos. Most of them will ALSO include still-on-the-market for previous year stuff! This is great!
Think about what you need and what you're doing on your system. Unless you are doing competitive gaming and are made of money, you do not need the top of the line anything. It's not necessary and most people can't make use of it unless they're doing high powered stuff for money. In which case you probably know what you need already. Most people will be fine gaming at 1440p (2k monitor) or 1080p. Unless you have a giant fancy monitor already, the pricing sweet spot is probably expecting to spend about $140-150 for a 2k, 27 inch monitor. If your monitor is at normal monitor distance from your face, larger than that is not going to be easy to adapt to. You can get 1080p monitors for cheaper, but any larger than 24-27 inches, 1080p starts to look weird, so really 1440 is kind of ideal for the kind of computer you plan on using for the next 5-10 years. I don't go for refresh rates lower than 120hz at this point, but higher than 180 is not going to be noticeable for MOST people. The monitor i recently bought for $140-ish was a 180hz refresh rate 2k curved monitor (1440p.)
Once you know what kind of monitor you're aiming for, you can get a sense from those review videos of which cards will get you to the frame rate you want. Look for the games you want to play, and people comparing them at high/ultra settings, and look at the FPS that various cards offer. Keep in mind that there's a huge amount of technology aimed at boosting fps, and the upsampling is pretty good now. Nvidea cards are stupid expensive and have the majority of market share. I don't bother with them. The cards I've bought in the past 2 years include (all AMD): (Upgrading a very old system, AMD RX 6400, 4gb graphics card.) AMD RX 6650XT for two people on very tight budgets. AMD RX 6750XT for a mid-range system. RX6800 for two pretty good systems last year. RX7600XT for a casual gamer on a newer system. RX 7800XT for the fanciest system for the most avid gamer in the family. In 2024, I strongly advise going for a card which is at least 12 gb but preferably 16gb of VRAM. More than that is not yet really necessary for most systems at 1440p. The video card is the single most expensive component in most systems. I tend to build to the graphics card, but it is reasonable to set a budget, get the most reasonable parts you can afford for the rest of the computer and spend as much as you have left on the video card. 8gb cards are not likely to give optimal results long term, and since I build computers for people who hate changing computers, the only reason I would go with a smaller-than 12gb card is for someone who just doesn't game much and is unlikely to start playing the kinds of games that need it.
Then there's the processor side of things. Until Intel screwed the pooch this year, most of what we were putting together, parts-list-wise in my family were systems which had intel processors and AMD graphics cards, because that was the sweet spot for us price-to-performance wise. But if you have an Intel 13th or 14th gen processor, you need to update your bios, and we're still not 100% confident in them, as a community. There were a LOT of bad processors the past two years. Also, AMD came out with a bunch of reasonably priced kickass gaming processors, and those will be best for people whose primary purpose is gaming. The processors we've leaned on the most heavily include: Intel 12400 and 12600 processors and Intel 13600 processors. But recently, knowing I was about to build a FAST gaming PC, I knew I needed to get an AMD X3d processor, and my purchasing timing happened to correlate with the 9800X3d dropping, and I managed to order one... but the ship date was in JANUARY. And it's a Christmas present. And Trump is talking about tariffs, which WILL send prices through the roof. So I decided to build another computer, and ordered parts for it. So in order to get onto the platform that 9800x3d processor will need, I picked another processor which uses the same motherboard and got that, too. And then ordered inexpensive versions of that motherboard and other parts, and whatdyaknow, I'm building two computers. But the principal is pretty sound: If you need to build cost effectively, get a lower end processor for the motherboard of the processor you ultimately want, and upgrade later when prices drop. So all those Intel 12600 systems could, later, upgrade to a 14900k and get a huge performance boost if needed. On AMD, they tend to stick with a given motherboard ecosystem for a VERY long time, so people who bought AMD years ago can now upgrade to a perfectly capable 5800x3d and be fine, but AMD is now in the 9000s, and getting a 7000 series processor is on the same board as a 9000 series, so most of the time that's the best deal, EXCEPT for a 7800x3d which is almost as expensive as the 9800x3d for reasons.
Other parts are simpler. RAM: 32 gb is the sweet spot, DDR5 prices have come down okay. Most games can't and won't use more than 20 or so gb, but many will use over the 16gb that used to be the standard rec. You can, however, get 16gb and upgrade RAM in a few years.
Storage: Optimum for gaming is probably your operating system on a 500 gb C drive ssd, your games on a 1, 2 or 4 terabyte SSD. New builds will use a M.2 2280 ssd, and they fluctuate somewhat in price, but the performance boost of ANY NVME drive is going to be worth it over SATA or a hard disk. If you are just wanting to upgrade, upgrading to a SSD and increasing your ram will give a new lease on life to old computers and make them feel a whole lot more functional. If you have an open PCIE slot, you can get an adaptor board to allow you to install an M.2 drive even on an older system.
pcpartpicker.com will let you make build lists and tell you if there are incompatibilities but it isn't perfect at sourcing RAM for the correct processor family. It will also help you find best current pricing, but isn't always accurate.
newegg has a pc builder function which is helpful but only if you buy all your stuff there. If you live close to a microcenter, you'll want to go there and shop their combo deals.
All the builder tools will give you a rough estimate of how much power you'll need. I go a bit over, but unless you're doing a stupid expensive build, you will be unlikely to need more than 850w for a gaming system and 600w for a "regular" system for someone who doesn't do much gaming. That allows a fair amount of headroom for upgrades, since power supplies often last the longest.
Cases are very subjective, but I've done a lot of building in Fractal G Focus cases, which are cheap, big enough for most parts and not the most convenient to build in. I dearly love the Lian Li Lancool 216 which I just built in for the first time, but it's big. REALLY nice cable routing though. Worth it just for the complete lack of barked knuckles, and the fact that you don't need to install like any extra fans beyond whatever your cooling solution is, and it's under $100. Which case you get might depend a lot on aesthetics or space considerations. Like, I paid extra NOT to have a glass side because I don't want extra lights around me, at all. My kid's has a lot of rainbow RBG. Hubby's has a glass side but minimal to no lighting.
Cooling solutions... for any higher end systems for heavy duty users (i.e. gaming a LOT with newer games, doing a lot of computationally heavy 3d modeling or whatever) I like using an aio watercooler. These can be easier to install even than air coolers now, as long as you do a little homework, and the ones I've bought were all under $100. Most users will do fine air cooling, and Gamer's Nexus has some dandy charts on gamersnexus.net that will help you figure out which coolers to use. (Hint, most of them are pretty good!) And for case fans, if you need extra, Arctic has 3-5 packs for super cheap.
But ultimately, if your computer is functioning okay for you, or just needs some upgrades and maintenance, you probably don't need to upgrade. Laptops are a whole 'nother ballgame completely. And you know how I built this system to play a couple of new games?
I ended up mostly playing my old favorites with better graphic settings. LOL.
No regrets, the system is SUPER functional and will last me years and if anything breaks I can fix it. And since then, I've helped two people buy parts, upgraded two computers and built systems for four other people and helped others put together parts list or figure out which laptop would be right for them. And the old computers? Are not ewaste yet, because the build process will allow a lot of moving around of parts to improve the old systems which can then be handed down to other family members. Even my old laptop went on to find use with another family member.

"Oh great druid this humble petitioner asks for your recommendations on fics you did not write but enjoyed greatly I look forward to getting your top 15."
Uhhhh Damn. Hold on. Lets seee..... I can give you eleven- in no particular order- that come to mind with a bit of searching. but questioner- I read so many fics. This is gonna be a crapshoot of fandoms, so hold on. Of Harrowed Hearts by Sable_Scribe: A Naruto fic which is sadly unfinished- but had an awesome vibe and really dives into the characterization of the Konoha 12 and their potential. It does have Naruto/Sasuke vibes- but when it last left off the slow burn was slow and Sasuke was barely realizing his emotions. The Games We Play by Ryuugi: It's posted on Spacebattles origionally- but it's been reposted a few other places. It's massive- nearly a million words. This was my first real 'Massive fic' i followed as it was updating- and my real intro to Space Battles/Sufficent Velocity as fanfic sites. Also- first Gamer fic that went *way* into the power scaling and endgame stuff. Jaune in this story escalates hard as fuck. I'm talking supernatural kung fu, elemental powers, the ability to destroy cities- And his threats are scary enough to match it. This was before Salem for most of the story- but the Grimm that show up are terrifying. Keeping on the forums real fast- Two Quests (Essentially reader driven stories) deserve to be on this list. Xander [Quest] by one Judge Mental is another of those Monolithic kind of reading experiences. it's massive- on a word count I can't even figure out- spread across like 28 threads. it starts as a simple premise- You are Alexander Harris- and you are born as the reincarnation of Ganondorf. Yeah- that Ganondorf. Things only escalate past that point- to where the last i checked we were possibly the strongest sorcerer on earth- and only 12.
"A Geeks Guide: CORE" series by Sage_of_Eyes. Again, monolithic in scope- it's a complete reimagining of the Highschool DXD mythology (yes, the ecchi novels/anime. Yes it's way deeper then it deserves. Yes, it's also metal as fuck)
Swerving back from forums:
A Drop of Poison by Angel Of Snapdragons: Naruto's Shadow Clones are fucking crazy- and if you've ever wanted to see the power fantasy of them escalating non stop- this is the good shit. Drifting by AlphaDelta1001: More Naruto- but this one has some of my favorite 'Kinda Genius' Naruto moments. It mixes up the timelines, throws in a completley revamped Chuunin exam, introduces tones of new characters- and completely revamps Naruto's methods- if you ever got bored of 'it's all Rasengan' in canon- this is definitely a suggestion.
From Fake Dreams by Third Fang: Fate Stay/Night. Supercharged. This is a bit of a controversal pick- mainly because Third Fang is one of those authors who's sense of humor is... off. Just a bit of that old school Shonen Jump Pervert vibe in the background- snarky comments and purile humor creep around the corners of his writing- but FFD is still immensly fun to read. The power creep- already high as fuck in Canon FSN- goes so high. Where recently Shirou isn't fighting Servants- But True Ancestors. Son of the Western Sea by Mac_Ceallach: If you want Percy Jackson going solo on a world-wide adventure- this is it. its after the War for New York, before the romans showed up- and Its got Percy just... being cool vibing. Hitting into other myths by accident. In contrast, if you want some true off the rocker Percy- An Impractical Guide to Godhood by Antony444 It's technically a crossover with A practical guide to Evil- but if you ever wanted to see olympus and the rest of the percy jackson verse just... implode with chaos? This is it. Flooding Hades with the flaming river- beating Ceaser in Gladatorial Events, fucking with the olympians? This goes hard. The Many Quirks Of Phantom Thievery by PsychicBeagle Persona 5, reloaded. Featuring New Game+ shenanagains, plenty of romance and memes, and puns. If you're a P5 fan, I highly reccomend it. It's Time For Another Good Idea, Bad Idea by Haurvatat: This is a weird one- for one it's Solo leveling, so it's fandom was kinda niche. on the other... It's got Cannabilism in it. But! As a Cook? this is a guilty pleasure fic. The cooking scenes are all written like Binging with Babish episodes, the humor is on point, there's actual stakes and emotions- theres closure? What more does a fic need.

Evie (Ace!Tav) Playthrough Day 4
(I love Evie in this fit)
Day 1… Day 3- Day 5
Astarion x Evie (Ace!Tav) Masterlist
For the uninitiated, I wrote a Tav well before I ever had a chance to play the game. Now, I finally can and thought it might be fun for my first play through to be as that Tav. Or, at least as much as the game play will allow me.
These are just some of my notes and scattered highlights that I thought would be fun to share.
Let me know if you think if I should continue this and any suggestions you might have.
So much happened you guys holy shit!!!
Technically this is a combination of two days, since I didn't have time last night and figured I'd wait until after I played some more today (there is just so much of this game I feel like two hour sessions barely scratch the surface)
First off, it took me way too long to figure out how to deactivate the traps in the back cavern in the Emerald Grove
Legitimately nearly died twice; if it weren't for my saves I would have
Not ashamed to admit, I needed to google it; I have never claimed to be a "gamer"
Still got it sorted (and if anybody knows how to get to that center bit in the middle of the cavern, please let me know)
After that decided to go after best girl Karlach
Ran into the Owl Bear cave first and I am upset
I *really* didn't want to kill the Owl Bear mama, but even with non-lethal damage the cub still eats it's mother; seems like it all is the same in the end
I'm now thinking more and more that Evie and Shadowheart get to be good friends; Evie takes a more benefit of the doubt approach to people, and I don't think she knows enough about the Gods and Shar specifically to have many thoughts on the subject
I've been purposefully handing all the books and other info to whoever else is there so Evie doesn't get the info from reading
Lae'zel and Shadowheart are also majorly at each other's throats in the first act
Lae'zel also would not be a fan of Evie; Evie comparatively talks way too much for Lae'zel's taste (+11 to Persuasion will do that to a person) (did I mention I love bards)
Did eventually get to Karlach and she's so great guys! I knew I was going to love her, but I *love* her
She deserves to wreck the Paladins of Tyr hide out, as a treat
(That one bitch was giving me so much trouble, thank God for Wyll's Eldritch Blast or we would have been spending all our actions just trying to keep up)
I am once again faced with not being able to punch a ginger bitch because of *consequences*
Also, I hate all the options they give you when talking to Wyll after he's transformed into a devil
None of this is what Evie would say to him!
Either way though, I am secure in the fact that Wyll would like Evie (even if he's not a fan of her trust in Astarion)
So, one long rest later and we're heading towards the Blighted Villiage; Astarion, Gale and Karlach in toe
Came across the boar and Astarion really is so suspicious
I also think at this point Astarion really doesn't know what to make of Evie; placing her in category bleeding heart no doubt and not certain of her abilities
She's a good talker, as she's able to convince the goblins to let them pass without a fight
On the other hand, she did assists Gale with his little problem, sacrificing a necklace of Dancing Lights
Also it doesn't help that she was nice to a gnome
I think what starts to change his mind though is when they meet Raphael on the road
I really do wish you could give Gur as a background, because even if Evie didn't grow up in the caravan, I do think just culturally she'd pick up on stuff
Not trusting devils I'm sure is top of the list
I wasn't expecting to have Evie so viscerally mistrusting of Raphael, but it felt right to play it that way
I'm not sure who he'd remind her of in her past, but I do think there is something beyond just him being a devil that rubs her the wrong way
Either way, her rejection of a devil's bargain that would not only enslave her, but likely them as well, even in exchange for a cure does re-color some things
Not sure where to insert this in the grand scheme of the narrative, but Evie did let Astarion open the door on the orger and hobgoblin
Evie's talking did not help in this situation
I know the narrative makes it clear what's happening, but I'm thinking Evie might have had a random ace blind spot moment
Like she's not totally naive about sex, but when it's usually the last thing on your mind (and you just talked with a devil), it's not the first thing you picture at the sound of banging
Not her smoothest moment; (honestly the sudden violence is a god send for everyone not to ask her more questions about it)
Either way, went back to the grove with some of the infernal iron and got Karlach stabilized at least
I love Karlach and Wyll's friendship, I support wholesome ships; low key starting to ship her with Dammon though
He's real cute, Karlach deserves a nice guy, and you know he'd roll with the punches
Another long rest later and we're here
The scene
I've been thinking about the build up to this scene
Obviously we know in origins it's after Astarion has a vision of Cazador and wanting to push the limits of his new found freedom by going against one of his rules
But I keep coming back to why Evie
Astarion can likely smell something being wrong with Gale's blood, Wyll just turned into a devil and would likely kill him, Karlach's blood is literal fire, and Lae'zel would also absolutely kill him
That leaves Shadowheart and Evie
Shadowheart is a big question mark to him; she follows Shar, maybe she might even like being bitten
But then there's Evie who has shown time and time again that she wants to help
This is about survival after all, and it would only be a taste
IDK, exploring it; add it to the list of possible future fics
But Evie obviously does wake up and does allow Astarion to bite her
As for Evie's motivations as to why, yes, Astarion is a prickly bastard, but he's in the same boat as the rest of them
If he wanted to hurt them, surely he would have done it by now
She recognizes the look in his eyes, Gods know she's worn it enough; the man is starving, the fact he hasn't done anything until now says a lot
This is definitely the shift in her and Astarion's relationship where they start to actually warm up to each other
So next morning gang wakes up, Evie stands up to Astarion saying she trusts him and heads out again towards the goblin camp; Shadowheart, Astarion and Lae'zel in toe
So Evie's current standing with the party;
Gale has disclosed his condition and gotten the first magical item; high rating with Evie, thinks of her as somebody who he can not only trust, but as someone who has shown bravery and true kindness (not to mention eloquence); maybe starting to form an...appreciation
Wyll has turned into a devil and certainly likes Evie, but maybe a little doubtful in her trust in Astarion and some dealings with the goblins
Shadowheart; genuinely trusts Evie as she's revealed her ambitions as a follower of Shar, and used the artifact in front of Evie in order to protect them from the influence of The Absolute (also might be starting to crush on her, but Evie has not been taking the opportunity to flirt)
Karlach: too soon to tell, but seems like a good person
Lae'zel: not a fan, too weak willed and doesn't know her place; talks too much
Astarion; unsure, certainly knows he can trust her now, to an extent; still too much of a bleeding heart, but then again, it's helped him; at the very least she knows to draw the line with devils and willing to kill to stay alive, over all a fair ally to have
Oh! I can't believe I forgot about my new best boy!
Scratch!

Top 5 Video Games Scores
(also hi I 💜you!!)
Hi I 💜 you 😊
Do you mean music scores, or numbers scores?? I'll do both, haha.
Musical Scores:
1. Hades
2. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. The Tal Tal Heights theme goes the hardest of any in the series.
3. Undertale feels like an obvious one but Toby Fox really is thinking twice as fast as any of us.
4. Skyrim
5. Banjo-Kazooie. Listen. That was the first game to use musical sound design in the way that it did (the same song played on different instruments/at a different volume underwater, etc.). 10/10 tone building. Genius ludomusical breakthrough.
Honorable mentions for soundtracks like Fallout 4's, but those aren't original scores.
Now for high scores! Which I never remember, exactly, so I guess I'll answer with objective Cool Wins instead.
1. I'll put Pokémon Snap here first because that's the one score I can remember. Nintendo was giving out prizes to anyone who could take a perfect picture of Mew (10,000 points). No matter what I did, I could only get to 9,980.
2. I was at a video game bar in Cologne, waiting for friends to show up. Two guys nearby were playing Super Smash Bros Melee and had a free controller, so when they saw I was waiting around, they offered me the spot.
When I picked Jigglypuff, they laughed at me (good-naturedly). "Das hab ich nie gesehen," and whatnot. Then I kicked their asses until they howled about what a troll I was and offered to buy me a winner's beer. It sounds like a made-up Tumblr Story (TM). Like it should end with "and then everybody clapped." But it's one of my favorite video game memories.
3. Continuing with the Jigglypuff glory, I'm obviously not half bad at Smash Bros, but there's one friend for whom I've only ever nipped at his heels. I have beaten him exactly one (1) time. It was a glorious neck-and-neck battle where I kept going for Sleep attacks, and finally hit one on our last lives and knocked him into oblivion. We screamed so loud, our roommates had to come down and see what the problem was. I've never played him since, content to rest on my laurels.
4. On a 12-hour flight to Japan, I discovered my little seat TV had Tetris. Thank god we were in the last half of the flight, because I played Tetris...and played Tetris...and played Tetris...until my game either scored so high or, more likely, took so long that my entire entertainment system froze. No movies, maps, or games for me for the rest of the trip.
5. I beat Elden Ring, and as we all know, everyone who beats a Souls game is automatically The Best Gamer In the World
